South Central Railway (SCR) invites applications for engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) in Secunderabad will manage the recruitment for 2801 training positions across various technical trades.

Vacancy Details
Total 2801 positions are available across multiple trades. Key vacancies include:
- Electrician: 1258 posts
- Fitter: 539 posts
- Welder: 202 posts
- AC Mechanic: 251 posts
- COPA: 181 posts
- Diesel Mechanic: 105 posts
- Other trades include Carpenter, Electronic Mechanic, Machinist, Painter, and more.
Training will be provided at various SCR workshops, divisions, and sheds.
Age and Education Qualification
Must have passed 10th class/SSC under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. Additionally, an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute is mandatory. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for this notification.
Must be between 15 and 24 years as of 11 April 2026. Age relaxations apply: SC/ST candidates (+5 years), OBC-NCL (+3 years), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (+10 years), and Ex-Servicemen (+10 years up to service length).

Candidates must be residents of specified districts in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, or Madhya Pradesh under SCR jurisdiction and provide valid proof of residence.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive a stipend during the apprenticeship period as per the prescribed rates under extant government instructions. The exact stipend amount will be notified as per the relevant rules.
Application Fees
The application fee is ₹100 for male candidates belonging to UR, OBC, and EWS categories. Female, Transgender, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from paying any fee.
How to Apply
- Visit Official Portal: Go to the South Central Railway website and navigate to ‘About Us → RRC-SCR’ to find the online application link.
- Read Notification: Carefully review the official notification to confirm your eligibility regarding qualification, age, and residential area.
- New Registration: Click on the registration link. Select your state and district, upload address proof, enter a valid mobile number and email ID, create a password, and verify the OTPs sent to your contacts.
- Login & Fill Form: Use your credentials to log in. Complete the application form by entering personal details (name, date of birth, category) and educational details (10th marks, ITI trade and marks, RDAT registration number).
- Select Preferences: Choose your preferred training units (divisions/workshops/sheds) only for the trades you are qualified for. This selection cannot be changed later.
- Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-size color photograph, your signature, and scanned copies of required certificates (10th marksheet, ITI certificate, caste/EWS/PwBD/ExSM certificates, medical fitness certificate, RDAT form) in the specified formats and size limits.
- Complete RDAT Registration: Ensure you are registered on the apprenticeship portal and have your RDAT/NAPS registration number before final submission.
- Preview & Submit: Thoroughly check all entered details and uploaded documents on the preview page. Once satisfied, click the final submit button. No edits are allowed after submission.
- Fee Payment: If applicable, pay the ₹100 fee online using net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. Generate and save the payment receipt.
- Download & Print: After successful submission and payment, download and print a copy of the completed application form. Keep it safe along with the fee receipt and all uploaded documents for future document verification.
Required: Application must be submitted online within the specified dates. No offline applications will be accepted.
