Discipline-wise vacancies: Plant Operator – 136, Electronics Mechanic – 15, Instrumentation Mechanic – 15, Electrician – 47, Fitter – 30, Turner – 5, Machinist – 5, Welder – 2. Horizontal reservation for PwBD: 11 posts.
Age and Education Qualification
Age Limit: 18 to 24 years as on 29-06-2026. Age relaxation: OBC (NCL) – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PwBD (UR/EWS) – 10 years, PwBD (OBC) – 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years.
Educational Qualification: For Plant Operator: HSC (10+2) Science with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (50% aggregate). For Other Trades: SSC (10th) + 2 years ITI in relevant trade (with Science & Maths 50% in SSC). English as one subject at SSC level mandatory.
Salary Details
Stipend: ₹20,000/- per month (1st year), ₹22,000/- per month (2nd year) plus Book Allowance of ₹3,000/-. Training duration: 2 years.

Vacancy Details
A total of 330 vacancies are announced for the Executive Trainee (ET) position. This includes 314 current vacancies and 16 backlog vacancies.

Age and Education Qualification
Age Limit (as on 30.04.2026): The upper age limit is 26 years for General/EWS category candidates. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Essential Qualification: Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) or a 5-year Integrated M.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in one of the eligible disciplines from a recognized university/institution. Only full-time, regular degrees are accepted.
GATE Score Requirement: A valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 score in the same discipline as the qualifying degree is mandatory. GATE 2023 or earlier scores are not valid.
Salary Details
During Training Period: Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹74,000 along with a one-time book allowance of ₹30,000. Lodging and boarding will be provided by NPCIL.
After Appointment: Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be appointed as Scientific Officer/C (Group A) in Pay Level 10 (₹56,100) of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix. They will also be eligible for various allowances including Dearness Allowance (58% as of 01.07.2025), House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits.

The application fee is ₹500 for General, EWS, and OBC category male candidates. The fee is non-refundable.
Exempted Categories: Female candidates of all categories, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, DODPKIA, and NPCIL serving employees are exempted from paying the fee.
