Age and Education Qualification
Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on the last date of application submission. Age relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years, PwBD+OBC – 13 years, PwBD+SC/ST – 15 years.
Secondary School Examination (10th standard) pass with Mathematics and English as subjects from a recognized board. Must have studied local language up to 10th standard. Knowledge of computer and cycling required.
Salary Details
GDS are paid Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with annual increment of 3% and Dearness Allowance. Initial TRCA: BPM – ₹12,000 to ₹29,380; ABPM/Dak Sevak – ₹10,000 to ₹24,470.

How to Apply
- Visit the official GDS Online Engagement Portal at https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) by providing a valid mobile number and email ID, and entering personal details and Class 10 board/year of passing information. Generate a unique Registration Number.
- Log in using the Registration Number and password received via SMS, then click on ‘Apply Online’ under the ‘Active Notification’ tab.
- Fill in Personal Details, Board/Educational Details (Circle, Board Name, passing year, marks obtained), and select Division and post preferences based on eligible vacancies.
- Upload a recent photograph (JPG/JPEG, 30-100 KB, 320×400 px, 4:5 aspect ratio) and signature (JPG/JPEG, 20-100 KB, 300×120 px, 5:2 aspect ratio) as per specifications.
- Preview the application and make any corrections before final submission.
- Pay the applicable fee (if not exempted) through online payment modes within 10 minutes of initiating payment.
- Submit the application on or before the last date. Use the edit/correction window (23-24 September 2026) if any corrections are needed.
